If you like your incandescent lightbulbs, you can’t keep your incandescent lightbulbs — at least not starting January 1, 2014.

Thanks to the Energy Independence and Security Act — which was signed by George W. Bush — lightbulb manufacturers must cease production of 40- and 60-watt incandescent bulbs, and once store supplies run out, consumers will be out of luck.

But not everyone’s giving in to the nanny state without putting up a fight:
