What Wisconsinites have gone through

JD Nelson, a conservative in Wisconsin that supports Scott Walker, summed up his harrowing experience during the recall effort. His story is surely similar to many others who stood against the unions and for fiscal conservatism. His story gives us a glimpse into what it was actually like to live through the recall process.

Our duly elected female reps were called sluts, whores, cunts, cocksuckers, bitches, and every other vile word you can think of.

Our beautiful state capitol building was shit in, slept on, marked up, broken into, and the work of our legislature was disrupted.

We had liberal judges attempt to block the reforms by legislating from the bench. And a liberal official that wouldn't publish the bill.

We had recall petitions signed by "Mickey Mouse", "Hugh G Rection" and by people that swore they never signed one. Even judges, DA's signed.

We had our children brought to rallies by teachers, we had our children told in the classroom how evil Scott Walker was.

I had my daughter, my baby 8 year old tell me I was bad for supporting Walker because "Miss __ says he wants to take teachers away".

I watched as people who were friends for years stop talking. I saw moms dropping kids off at school and get the bird in front of their kids.

Businesses were sent letters from union saying if they didnt support them they would be boycotted, and "staying neutral was not an option".

And the millions of wasted dollars, milllions of wasted man hours, the opportunity cost is immeasurable. Immeasurable. But….

It was all fucking worth it. Unions, DONE. Liberal politicians guaranteed tax-payer funded campaign chest, DONE. Fiscal sanity, RESTORED.

And the future for my kids, that I love, in my state, that I love, looks a hell of a lot brighter, tonight, thanks to a lot of you. So……

Thank you my brothers and sisters, thanks to those that spoke, and gave, and tweeted, and simply cheered us on. We did it, with you. Thanks.
