Liberals swoon as Obama prepares to grant 800K deportation waivers

DREAM Act, shream act. We don’t need to pass that bill to find out what’s in it. Obama can pander to the Hispanic community just fine without Congress. Executive overreach is where it’s at.

Behold, the partial amnesty bill, minus that pesky “bill” part.

Drudge right now:

More on how Homeland Security will handle those “low enforcement priorities” via Hot Air:

President Obama has decided that the Homeland Security Department will no longer deport younger illegal immigrants who haven’t broken the law, and will instead issue them work permits.

The Obama administration will stop deporting and begin granting work permits to younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and have since led law-abiding lives. The election-year initiative addresses a top priority of an influential Latino electorate that has been vocal in its opposition to administration deportation policies.

The policy change, described to The Associated Press by two senior administration officials, will affect as many as 800,000 immigrants who have lived in fear of deportation.

A PDF of the Homeland Security memo is here.

Twitchy founder Michelle Malkin is calling this move Occupy Open Borders.

Obama ignores the law, Congress to block deportation of illegal immigrants to secure votes for his re-election. And is getting away with it.
